Thu Jan 20 2022 false – false | Thu Jan 20 2022

Event Description:

This exhibit features a reproduction of a 190 foot mural by Edward Laning which hung in the Dining Hall of Ellis Island. The mural was entitled The Role of the Immigrant in the Industrial Development of America. Muralist Andrew Sabori and his wife Roberta first learned of the mural through a single photograph when visiting Ellis Island. After many painstaking years of research, Mr. Sabori was able to reproduce an 80 foot version the mural which had been mostly destroyed in a storm in the 1950s. This reproduction as well as portraits of significant immigrants painted by Sabori make up this significant exhibit which will be on display throughout Spring Semester 2022.
